Hi my name is Brittney Parish and I am 2½ years old. I was born in Kinston, North Carolina on May 27, 1998. I am a big girl and can talk really well. I am really cute though, with a few of my words that start with a "k" or a "c", I say it as a "P" instead. I tell my brother to "Plean" his room. I wear big girl panties and I keep them clean and dry! I am such a big girl! I was diagnosed this summer with Trichotillomania. This is when people pull their hair out. I pull my hair out and then suck my thumb. You can learn more about this condition at the many web-sites. My mommy will be happy to talk to anyone about my condition, just e-mail her. To help with my condition, my mommy shaved my head on May 25, 2000. You can see a picture of me with my hair gone here. I went to see a Child Psychologist on August 1, 2000, to see if there was anything that she could do to help me. She just said that my mommy and daddy did the right thing by shaving my head. She also said to keep an eye on me to see if there are any changes in my behavior or speech. I did good with my hair short until about October 6,2000. On that day, my mommy saw me pull at my hair twice. She really thinks it is more like an obsession. She had to take away all of my baby dolls that had hair. I also pull the stringy material from the lining underneath the couch. They think that if I stop sucking my thumb, that I won't pull anymore. But I really don't want to stop, I LOVE to suck my thumb. It is now January 2001 and I am doing pretty good. We are working on the thumbsucking issue. My Mommy and Daddy haven't seen me pull my hair lately. And I even tell them that I am not a baby and that I don't pull my hair anymore! See a recent picture of my hair here. Other than that, I am a normal 2 year old. I like Blues Clues and Barney.
